The Hungry Dancer | Power Balls
Are you looking for a quick & easy snack to make for your hungry dancer? I stumbled across these delicious Power Balls and they are very muchΒ adored by my daughter (and husband!). Pack these sweet treats in your child's dance bag or school lunches.

Made with only 5 ingredients, these Power Balls won't disappoint!Β

Please note, this recipe is not suitable for those with allergies to nuts.

Servings: Approximately 15 bite sized balls
Gluten-Free, Vegan
Freezer Friendly:Β 1 month
Refrigerate:Β 1 Week
a
Ingredients
  • 1Β CupΒ datesΒ (pitted - if dry, soak in warm water for 10 minutes, then drain well)
  • 3Β TbspΒ all-natural salted peanut or almond butter
  • 1/4Β CupΒ dark chocolate, dairy free if you wishΒ (roughly chopped)
  • 1Β TbspΒ chia seeds (or sub flax seeds)
  • 2/3Β cupΒ rolled oats (gluten free if you wish)
  • 1 cup fine desiccated coconut (optional)

Method

  • Pulse pitted dates in aΒ food processor or blenderΒ until they’re in small pieces.
  • Add oats, chocolate, chia seeds and peanut butter and pulse or mix until combined. You want there to be consistently small pieces but not overly processed.
  • If you find that the mixture is not as moist as it should be, add a teaspoon of honey or stevia (but not too much as they will be too sweet).
  • Carefully roll into 1-inch balls, using the warmth of your hands to mould them together. Roll in fine desiccated coconut (optional).
  • To set, pop in fridgeΒ 30 minutes. Will keep fresh in an air-tight bag or container for up to a week. Freeze for longer term storage.

Trust me, these Power Balls will disappear quickly and you may find that you need to make another batch sooner rather than later. No word of a lie, they take only 15 minutes to prepare. Enjoy!
